There are a few fundamental rules that, in general, a leader should adhere to.
Don't:
- Be selfish
- Blame your team
- Give orders
- Hold people back
- Keep people down
- Make excuses
- Micro-manage
- Put a lid on people
- Settle
- Take the credit for the work of your team
- Wait for something to happen
Instead:
- Be selfless
- Support your team
- Motivate and inspire
- Push people forward
- Lift people up
- Make ultimate responsibility yours
- Allow people to learn on their own
- Let people grow
- Seek continuous improvement
- Give the credit to your team
- Initiate change
